Recherche/projet research/project
My research interest broadly relates to host and microbial biofilms interactions in the gut. I am studying how dysregulation in the production of host factors (for instance, epithelial proteases) leads to biofilm alterations, and participate in the pathophysiology of inflammatory and infectious intestinal diseases. Importantly, I am evaluating strategies to restore homeostatic epithelium/biofilm crosstalk with the hope of gaining insights for future treatment options for diseases affecting intestinal tissues.
